The Salesianum Sallies junior varsity hockey squad (10-2-4) captured the 2018 Sammartino Cup by virtue of a 5-2 victory over West Chester East (10-5-1) on Thursday evening (Feb. 15) at Ice Line in West Chester, Pa.
Tim Crane, who also plays on the third line with the Sallies varsity squad, set the tone early with a pair of first-period goals. His first came at 5:16 on the first power play of the game, and he followed it up with another just 73 seconds later. In fact, Crane had a hand in all five Salesianum goals, completing a hat trick 4:53 into the third period from a Chase Golden assist while Golden accounted for the other two Sallies goals in the third period with Crane being credited with the primary assist on both occasions.

Ethan Scharp and Jack Mason also recorded multiple assists for the Sallies, and Owen Schlegel stopped 23 of 25 West Chester East shots faced in victory.
