Havertown, Pa. — The Kennett Blue Demons (3-2-2) are starting to find their momentum, rolling to a second consecutive shutout with a 4-0 victory over Harriton (0-6-0) on Thursday (Nov. 29) at the Skatium.
Despite their constant presence in the Rams’ zone and outshooting their hosts 16-2 in the first period, the Demons struggled to generate quality scoring chances in the early stages and Rams goalie Jacob Kopelman saved the first 12 shots he faced. With Harriton left winger Ryan Davis serving a tripping minor in the 13th minute, junior right winger Blake Richman connected on the 13th Kennett shot of the game, firing from point-blank range after fielding a centring pass from Christo Walker to put the Demons on the board at 12:59.
Walker then himself found the back of the Harriton net with 12 seconds left in the second period, launching a top-shelf snap shot past Kopelman from the right face-off dot after being set up by a cross-ice pass from defenceman Matthew Ganly. For Walker, his ninth seasonal goal and two assists in the contest cement him as Kennett’s leading scorer with 15 points.
Ganly and Kyle Robertson contributed third-period goals to extend the Demons’ lead to 4-0, while freshman goalie Tyler Richman kept a small late flurry of Harriton chances at bay to secure an 18-save shutout.
Hayden Ibarra-Blomgren brought his seasonal assist total to nine with a pair of helpers.
Kennett returns to action Friday (Nov. 30), facing off against ICSHL Liberty South Division rival Sun Valley.
