St. Mark’s 2, Avon Grove 1 (OT)
St. Mark’s Jimmy Paoli and Lance Ralsten teamed up to score the game-winning goal with 1:43 remaining in overtime.
A scoreless first period led to the lone Avon Grove goal scored by Nolan Zotter 9:42 into the second period. However, their lead didn’t last long, as 10:48 into the third, a goal by Kelly Stroik, assisted by Graham Kline and James Morrison, tied the game for the Spartans.
Kennett 5, Sun Valley 3
A Hayden Ibarra-Blomgren goal with 2:42 left in the third by Hayden Blomgren solidified Kennett’s 5-3 win over Sun Valley.
Kennett finished the first period of the game with a power-play goal by Kyle Robertson with 6:07 left. Sun Valley tied the game 38 seconds into the second period with a short-handed goal by Michael Brees at the 15:22 mark, but with two more goals by Kennett and one more by Sun Valley, the second period ended with Sun Valley trailing Kennett, 3-2.
The third period opened with a lone goal by Jacob DellaVecchia for Kennett. Sun Valley responded with 6:13 to go with a Nate McGinnis goal, assisted by Gavin McGinnis and Michael Brees, to cut the Blue Demons’ lead back to one before Ibarra-Blomgren’s first goal of the season secured the win with his late tally.
