‘Hockey For A Cause’: A Quick Look

On Friday evening (March 2), four area high school hockey teams team up to present Hockey for a Cause at Fred Rust Arena on the campus of the University of Delaware.  All proceeds benefit the work of the Delaware Foundation Reaching Citizens with Intellectual Disabilities (DFRC).

When:  Friday, March 2, 2018 – 6:00 p.m.
Where:  Fred Rust Arena, S. College Ave., Newark, Del.
Admission:  $5, with all proceeds benefitting the DFRC
Media:  Both games will air on Delaware Hockey Night Radio

The first game, scheduled to begin at 6:10 p.m., features the DuPont/Conrad Tigers and the Hodgson/Caravel Silver Bucs of the Delaware High School Hockey League.  A marquee matchup between Inter-County Scholastic Hockey League (ICSHL) South Division champions the St. Mark’s Spartans and Salesianum, the defending Flyers Cup champions, will immediately follow (approximately a 7:50 p.m. start).

Both games will feature an on-ice “Chuck-a-Duck” contest and a 50/50 drawing to take place between the second and third periods.  Salesianum will honour their eight senior players between games, as well.
