‘Brave Like Brian’ Benefit At Patriot Ice

Newark, Del. — On Friday, Aug. 16, the Patriot Ice Center will host a benefit event for a member of the Delaware hockey community to aid in his battle with cancer.

The event, dubbed ‘Brave Like Brian,’ will raise funds for Brian Henry Jr., who was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor in July. Henry, 21, played youth hockey with the Pond Penguins and Delaware Ducks out of the Patriot Ice Center before playing scholastic hockey for Delaware Military Academy and junior hockey for the EHL Premier Philadelphia Jr. Flyers.

Henry’s father, Brian Sr., and brother, Andrew, are both active in the Delaware hockey community as well.

Members of the local hockey community are invited to the Patriot Ice Center from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday for a cookout held in the parking lot adjacent to the Olympic rink. The cost is $10, and all proceeds will benefit the Henry family directly.
