Spartans Rebound, Defeat Kennett

After tasting their first defeat of the season in a 6-2 loss to Perkiomen Valley, the St. Mark’s Spartans (4-1-0) bounced back on Monday evening (Dec. 4) with a 5-1 victory over Inter-County Scholastic Hockey League South Division rivals Kennett (3-2-0) at The Pond Ice Arena in Newark, Del.

After a scoreless first period, the floodgates opened for St. Mark’s in the second frame as they registered three goals in the first four minutes. Patrick Swain led the Spartans with a pair of goals, while William Ralsten, Kelly Stroik, and captain Joey Centrone each added a tally. Billy Pierce saved 23 of 24 shots faced.

Blake Richman scored the Blue Demons’ lone goal, while Morgan Cullen stopped 43 of 48 shots in defeat.
