Both Salesianum and the Delaware Military Academy were in Inter-County Scholastic Hockey League (ICSHL) action Monday night (Feb. 5).

WC Bayard Rustin 4, Salesianum 2

The Salesianum Sallies struggled to break through against the West Chester Bayard Rustin Knights at the Patriot Ice Center in Newark, Del., falling 4-2 in a penalty-laden affair.  Both teams went 1-for-8 on their respective power plays while a total of 40 penalty minutes racked up between the sides.  John Harkins led Rustin with a pair of goals, while Matt Owens contributed a goal and an assist.  For the Sallies, Joey DeFilippis and Ethan Scharp both found the back of the net, offering the only two of 20 total shots to get past Rustin goalie Joel Keller.  Graham Burke was once again solid for Salesianum despite defeat, recording an astounding 49 saves on a total of 53 shots.

DMA 14, Interboro 6

The Markus Cook show made its way to IceWorks in Aston, Pa. on Monday night, as the senior centre had a hand in all but two of the DMA Seahawks’ 14 goals against South Division foe Interboro.  Cook, one of three Seahawks with a hat trick, accounted for four goals and eight assists on the night, which saw DMA sprint to a 3-0 lead in the first four minutes and use a 7-3 second period to extend their lead out of the Buccaneers’ reach.  Alex Maglio also accounted for four tallies, while Max Ruggerio potted three and helped on six others.

Interboro’s Jake Reifer tallied a hat trick, while Stephen Schwartz added a pair of goals.

Anthony Cuba suffered defeat between the pipes for the Bucs, giving up one-third of the 42 shots he faced.  Senior Julia Emerich got the win in net for DMA, recording 20 saves on 26 shots.
