The No. 2 Appoquinimink Jaguars drubbed the No. 7 Delco Dragons, 13-0, unleashing a barrage of shots on Dragons goalie Gino DeMarco right from the outset and registering five goals in the first five minutes of play en route to a 10-0 lead at the first intermission. Paul Army led the Jaguars with four tallies, while Nathan Panchisin contributed a pair of goals. Seven other Appoquinimink players found the back of the net, and Dylan Hadley registered a 21-save shutout.
Hodgson/Caravel 7, DuPont/Conrad 2
Three early goals from the No. 4 Hodgson/Caravel Silver Bucs enabled them to set the tone early en route to a 7-2 victory over No. 5 DuPont/Conrad. Nick DeMarco registered a hat trick for the Bucs, Heath Widdoes accounted for a pair of goals, and Austin Himelberger stopped 25 of 27 shots faced in victory for Hodgson/Caravel.
Middletown 8, Harrington 2
The No. 3 Middletown Cavaliers punched their ticket to the semifinals with an 8-2 win over the No. 6 Harrington Havoc. After falling behind 2-1 early in the second period, the Cavaliers opened fire on Havoc goalie Cameron Chafin and strung together seven unanswered goals to outpace Harrington. In all, Chafin faced 61 shots, giving up a pair of goals each to Trey Lodge and Chris Rutkoski. Colin Mettle had an easy night in net for Middletown, stopping 10 of 12 shots faced.
Semifinals • Wednesday, Feb. 21
The DHSHL semifinals are scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 21 at the Patriot Ice Center. Top-seeded Newark/Tatnall received a first-round bye, and are scheduled to face Hodgson/Caravel, while rivals Appoquinimink and Middletown will meet in the other semifinal. Both will air on Delaware Hockey Night Radio.
