Delaware Hockey Night Radio presents the opening weekend of the University of Delaware Division 2 men’s hockey team 2018-19 season, with the Blue Hens travelling to Millersville (Pa.) Friday (Sept. 14) before hosting Navy on Sunday (Sept. 16).
Friday, Sept. 14: Delaware at Millersville (Pa.)
Where: Lancaster Ice Rink, Lancaster, Pa.
When: 7:45 p.m., air time 7:30 p.m.
Last Season: The Blue Hens swept Millersville, starting the season with a 10-5 win on the road before a 6-1 win at home in February to conclude the regular season. Ryan Morse led UD with two goals and an assist in the last meeting, while Eric Birnberg stopped 25 of 26 shots faced.
Sunday, Sept. 16: Navy at Delaware
Where: Fred Rust Arena, Newark, Del.
When: 3:45 p.m., air time 3:30 p.m.
Tickets: $5 (free for UD students)
Last Season: The Blue Hens and the Midshipmen met once last year, with UD taking a 7-1 decision on home ice in September. Navy were limited to 14 shots on Birnberg, while Steve Bryson, Jeremy DeWit and Alec Rankin each accounted for a pair of goals.
