ACHA Women: Delaware Complete Sweep Of Maryland, 7-0

Laurel, Md. — Five days after a 5-0 win over Maryland on home ice, the University of Delaware women’s hockey team (3-1-0 ACHA) completed their sweep of the Terrapins with a 7-0 triumph at The Gardens Ice House.

Kendall Dubin led the Blue Hens with a hat trick and an assist, while Carlie Smythe and Emily Hockey contributed two goals apiece. Dubin and Hockey also added an assist each, while Callan Small and captain Mary Claire Newtown also each registered two helpers.

Delaware outshot Maryland, 46-16, and were successful twice in three power-play opportunities. Kendall Smythe earned the shutout in net for the Blue Hens.

The Blue Hens return to ACHA action on Friday (Oct. 12), taking on the West Chester University Golden Rams in the first of a two-game weekend series. Game time on Friday at Gold Arena is slated for 8:20 p.m.; live coverage on Delaware Hockey Night Radio will begin after the conclusion of the Division 2 men’s game.
