Reading, Pa. — A dominant first period set the tone Friday evening (Sept. 28) for the University of Delaware Division 1 men’s hockey team (1-1-0), as they rolled over Penn State Berks, 8-3, at the Body Zone Sports and Wellness Complex.

Greg Jandoli accounted for a pair of first-period goals, his second of which put the Blue Hens up 4-0 in the last minute of the opening frame. Kevin Felice, who assisted Jandoli on both occasions as well as setting up Pierce Lamberton for the initial goal of the game at 4:35, likewise notched a pair of goals himself, as did Chris Mazzella.

The Hens dominated territorially and outshot Berks, 45-14, while also potent on the power play, capitalising on three of 10 opportunities. Stephen East recorded 11 saves in victory.

Delaware returns home Friday (Oct. 5) for the first of a two-game series against Liberty. Both games will air on WVUD 91.3 FM, and #DHNInsider will offer complete coverage at www.dehockeynight.com.
